Marion Barry Wants To Ease Handgun Restrictions....Not!

Here's a howler. The lead on Drudge said, "Marion Barry Seeks to Loosen DC's 30 -Year Gun Ban." I said, "Huh?" Why on Earth would an anti-freedom scumbag like Barry do a 180 on the Second Amendment? Well, of course, he didn't. It's the old "registration" scheme. He, and several other democrats came up with the idea to allow people who secretly own guns to register them for a 90 day period. If they do register them, they get to own them legally.
Here are the give-aways to the real plan, which is to get these fools to register their guns. Then, in a year or two, write a new law outlawing those guns too. They'll know just where to find them.
Give-away #1 -
Barry spokesman Keith Perry
said the bill is "an acknowledgment that people do have guns" in the District
and would help police better track weapons used in the commission of crimes.
Obviously, knowing where law-abiding citizens have guns will do nothing to track weapons used in the commission of crimes. Who could fall for this???
Give-away #2 -
Mr. Barry, who served four terms as D.C. mayor, also referenced the
recent shooting deaths of D.C. teenagers Cynthia Gray and Taleshia Ford,
both 17, in urging support for the measure.
"We all get outraged ... and we all go home," Mr. Barry said. "Nothing is
done to get the guns off the streets of Washington, D.C."
Now, how could Barry's measure possibly have affected the outcome for the two girls who were killed? Are we to believe that Barry thinks these girls had guns at home, and if they were legally registered, the girls would have been packing heat and been able to defend themselves? You would have to believe this absurd contention to link the girls' deaths to Barry's measure. Then, he says, nothing is done to get guns off the streets. Using these two comments to support the registration of guns makes his intentions clear.
Give-away #3 -
Mr. Brown acknowledged that the bill "needs some working and flushing out" but that it was a proactive approach to taking guns off of city streets.
"To me, it's the end result," he said. "How do we get guns off the streets of the District of Columbia, get public input and find out how we can make the streets safer?"
Mr. Brown is Kwame Brown, another democrat council member. "To me it's the end result." Yeah, right Kwame, baby.
Anyway, anyone who would voluntarily register their guns on the word of democrat politicians deserves to be robbed, arrested and do 30 years at the hands of those same lofty officials.
It's not that I really give a shit about the benighted residents of Washington DC. Anyone who would elect someone named Kwame to represent them, in addition to that pathetic abortion of a human being, Marion Barry deserves whatever they get.
I just think it's funny to headline this as some kind of concession to the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. By the way. the headline on the Wash Times story is, "Barry aims for gun-ban hiatus." ha ha!
