The Sandy Berger case was resolved today.  He was convicted of a misdemeanor and fined $10,000.  He will do no time.

On September 11th 2001 this nation was attacked by Islamist terrorists resulting in the death of some 3,000 American citizens and was dealt a critical blow to its national health.  This happened right after the reign of the administration for which Sandy Berger served as National Security Advisor to the president.

A commission was established to determine what went wrong and what could be done in the future to avoid a similar disaster.  This similar disaster could involve a nuclear strike against this nation.  The investigations and findings of this commission could not be more vital to the national interest.

Sandy Berger, in preparation for his testimony before this commission, went to the national archives and removed and destroyed top secret documents from his administration that were germane to this commission’s investigation.

The Bush administration’s justice department prosecuted the Sandy Berger treason case.
