Pat Buchanan's Little Problem

August 25, 2005

By Douglas B. Wakeman

Pat Buchanan speculates on the Iraq war's effect on the chances for the two parties come 2006 and 2008.  He asks, "In the long run, the Democratic Party stands to lose far more from this war than a GOP whose president led us into it. How can that be? How can a war that will go down in history as"Bush's War" end up dividing Democrats and gravely damaging their party?"

His question and answer are all cockeyed because he doesn't recognize the war as righteous and justified.  The simple answer is that it is a just war and the people see the democrats either whining, bitching and *momoquing it, or behaving with outright treason.

Pat is right-on on many issues, but he has a little problem when it comes to anything involving the Middle East.  His virulent Jew-hatred skews his judgment absurdly.  He is incapable of seeing the good or the nobility in any action that will benefit Israel, however tangentially, rendering his analyses convoluted and ridiculous.
