Why The Left Can't Name Terrorism

Do radical Left wing organizations like Reuters and The Canadian Broadcast Corporation have policies that prohibit the use of the words, "terrorist", and "terrorism", because they adhere to some holy non-judgementalism or some hallowed journalistic neutrality?  Yeah, right.

Recall the outrage expressed by The Left at Reagan's naming of the USSR as "The Evil Empire."  It is exactly the same phenomenon. It's based on the knowledge that an enemy that cannot be named cannot be defeated.  Note that the events following Reagan's naming of the enemy led rather quickly to that enemy's defeat.

That is exactly why The Left today refuses to name Islamic terrorism.  They dread seeing another of their allies in the "War Against The West" defeated.

A good column from The Ottawa Citizen.
